about
The opening single of the EP, Mum I’m Sorry, is inspired by the detriments of capitalism and conveys the feeling of craving change and coming together as people to fight for equality.
It sets the tone of the EP which will touch upon themes such as sexism, homophobia, racism and social injustices. It speaks of the common enemies we all share and how we must join together to protect our people and planet.
Mum I’m Sorry acts as the adrenaline fueled single that introduces the story of our heroine ‘Chara’. The guitar and drums relentlessly carve a bed of distortion to further invigorate Cait’s diverse and impassioned vocal performance.
This opening single represents the emotional storm that is felt by Chara and establishes the beginning of her revolutionary tale.
lyrics
Lyrics:
Mum I’m sorry but I gotta take down the bad guys.
Can’t help this feeling that I gotta take down the bad guys.
The system is corrupt. The game is rigged and we’re the ones who are losing.
It’s time that we speak up. Our times expired so thank the tyrants.
If we’re gunna go down let's take them down with us.
Politicians crocodile tears, fake promises, torch our careers. Funded by the earth, nature’s preserve. Kill their mother, they don’t care to find a cure.
No pain, no guilt, just greed. Don’t fear the cost cuz their living on top.
We gotta take them out, this is what she needs, this is what she needs.
Mum I’m sorry but I gotta take down the bad guys.
Can’t help this feeling that I gotta take down the bad guys.
Mum I’m sorry but I gotta take down the bad guys.
Can’t help this feeling that I gotta, I gotta, I gotta take them down.
Sit on their silver mountains with their crowns of gold.
Laugh at us like we’re the hounds fighting for the scraps.
Hey so open your eyes, open them wide. How could you be so blind to their transparent lies? Feeding on you like a virus, spreading through your mind.
Mum I’m sorry but I gotta take down the bad guys.
Can’t help this feeling that I gotta take down the bad guys.
Mum I’m sorry but I gotta take down the bad guys.
Can’t help this feeling that I gotta, I gotta, I gotta take them down.
Come together, don’t be naive. We all share one common enemy yeah.
Come together don’t be naive, we all share one common enemy yeah.
