about

The third single of the EP, Harlem, is inspired by the incredible Madam C J Walker. She was the first female & black female millionaire and an extinguished business woman. After watching the series Self Made on Netflix, Cait was inspired to write about this heroic figure who gave opportunities to other black women in the United States during the 1920’s. Over a century ago, C J Walker proved that women could be powerful leaders in business and inspired others to take control of their lives and to step out of the shadows of men.

Harlem is a 90’s grunge inspired song infused with pop elements. This song contains some serious catchy melodies in the vocal and guitar with a dark bite. It has a playful tone and danceable beat.

After completing her last mission, our hero Chara continues her story where she teams up with another powerful woman, Captain J Walker. They come together to empower and stand up for women “girls we make the world go around”. Captain Walker offers Chara helping hand on her mission “if you’ll be a friend to me, I’ll keep you on your feet”

lyrics

I’m the one they talk about.
I’m the one who wears the crown.
I’m your hero, I’m your queen.
Stole the show from my enemies.
Girls we make the world go around, go around.

And yeah I’m a millionaire,
Made a fortune from your hair.
Take me to Harlem, make me rich and famous. (Yeah)
You can read about me in the New York Papers. (Yeah)

Join me or you’ll be my prey.
I’ll treasure those who choose stay.
Yeah I’m fearless, I’m a lion.
I’m a phoenix, I’m on fire.

And yeah I’m a millionaire,
Made a fortune from your hair.
Take me to Harlem, make me rich and famous. (Yeah)
You can read about me in the papers.

If you'll be a friend to me, I’ll keep you on your feet.
Take care of every need, I’ll complete your wildest dreams X6
